Some Cool New Features

Wow, it's hard to believe that almost a month has passed since we entered our private beta phase. Today I'm excited to announce some improvements to the site along with two very exciting new features. Let's start with them

The first big announcement is our iPhone optimized site. While we were at WWDC last week, we absorbed as much information as we could about Safari on the iPhone. We think you'll like what we've done with that knowledge. Just visit the site on your iPhone, and you'll be automatically taken to the new iPhone version of the site. We'll put up a video showcasing this site soon.

Our second big announcement is our new embeddable player. You can now take any published stack and embed it on your blog or other web page just like you would a youtube (or blip) video. Just click the "Embed" button on the stack's page to get the embed code. We'll put up a video showing this process soon.

But that's not all folks...
Speak Language Improvements:

• put into "chunk expression" now works
  • this means that code like 'put "hello" into line 1 of field id 2' will work
• the 'openStack' message fires at the correct time now
• the 'delete' command now works for deleting tiles, buttons, and fields.
• the 'doMenu' command now works for the following (non visual) menu items:
  • EDIT
    • "New Tile" (or "New Card")
    • "Delete Tile" (or "Delete Card")
    • "Background"
  • GO
    • "First"
    • "Prev"
    • "Next"
    • "Last"
  • OBJECTS
    • "New Button"
    • "New Field"
    • "New Background"

TileStack Player Improvements:

• The navigation buttons are no longer available in 'play mode'
• A newly created stack will automatically open in 'edit mode'
• Speak script error messages are more descriptive
• Repetitive Speak errors should no longer occur
• Several other performance enhancements

Web Site Improvements:

• Some users have reported problems viewing their stacks at all. This should be fixed.
• Better error pages (hopefully you'll see these less frequently)
• Improvements with searching and sorting Stacks and People
• Clarified the names of some of the buttons
• If you forget your password, there is a link to reset your password.
• You can now send direct messages to each other via a link on each person's profile page.
